Dior released a few new products on Valentine’s Day and of course I set out to try them for myself!

As ya’ll know, I’m a huge Dior beauty fan, ever since I’ve tried their Backstage Eyeshadow Palettes and the Dior Forever Skin Glow foundations is one of my favorites to wear.

So when I saw that Dior Beauty was launching a skin enhancer product and liquid highlighters, I knew that I needed to get my hands on these and see what they were all about for myself.

I’ve spent about the last 2 weeks playing around with these products and in today’s blog, I’m excited to share with ya’ll my over all thoughts on the Dior Forever Glow Star Filter and the Dior Forever Glow Maximizers.

Hopefully, by the end of the review, you’ll know if these are products you’ll want to purchase for yourself and your beauty routine.

Dior Loyalty Program

I try to talked about the Dior Loyalty Program any time I mention their products because it’s such a good way to get tons of value from Dior Beauty.

Their loyalty program is free to join and moving up the tiers is pretty easy, with just two purchases totally any amount needed to reach the second tier.

Even new members to the program can experience many program benefits, including free ground shipping and accesses to exclusive members only promo codes.

And the spend amount needed to reach the premium tier (thought high) is actually less than the amount of spend needed to reach VIB status with Sephora. And Dior offers A LOT better perks for their members as well.

Their loyalty program comes with so many goodies, including gifts for when you reach each new tier, beauty consultations, members only events, birthday gifts etc, etc.

Plus Dior is always giving a way a TON of freebies when you order from them, so it’s always worth checking them out and seeing what their current offering is.

Dior March Promo Codes

If you’re shopping with Dior, you’re going to want to check out which promo codes might be available for you to use.

Dior seems to keep a rotating list of promo codes that can be used for your order and they switch them out pretty frequently.

I have test all the code listed below and they are valid as of this currently posting. but they re subject to chance in the future.

About the Dior Forever Product Line

The Dior Forever product line is focused around high end complexion products enriched with quality skin care ingredients.

Designed with more mature skin in mind, products in the Dior Forever line will typically feature floral extracts like pansy, iris and rose for their many skin care benefits as well as have a fair amount of emollients occlusives and humectants that will help to keep your skin from drying.

With skin care ingredients being such a focal point in this collection, Dior Forever products are generally a good choice for those of use with more sensitive skin.

Similar to a lot of the products in the Chanel Les Beiges line, Dior Forever products are designed to help give you that beautiful, radiant inter glow that makes it look like you’ve just been sun kissed. These products are meant to enhance your natural beauty, not mask it.

Most of the products in the Dior Forever line are also meant to be long wearing, with many products in this line boosting of 24 hour wear and no transfer. This makes products like this (theoretically) a prefect choice for longer days or when you’re out on vacation and don’t want to fuss too much over make up.

Overall, the Dior Forever products are a good choice for those who are a little bit more conscious about what they put on their skin and for those who are looking for more natural looking complexion products that will wear well throughout their day.

I’m clearly a huge fan of this line, so seeing that they have recently added a liquid highlighter and fa skin enhancer made me feel compelled to try it!

Dior Forever Glow Star Filter

The Dior Forever Glow Star Filter was designed to help prefect your natural skin by blurring, smoothing and visibly brightening your skin, leaving it looking more slowly and naturally radiant.

Like all Dior Forever products, the Glow Star Filter is a skin care make up hybrid that is long wearing and (according to Dior) can deliver up to 24 hours of hydration to your skin.

Formulated with iris extract, the formula for this particular product is derived from 94% natural origin ingredients.

The Dior Forever Glow Star Filter was designed to be used in 3 different ways: by itself, mixed with foundation or used as a spot treatment.

When used by itself, the Dior Forever Glow Star Filter gives you a luminous natural glow that makes it look as if you have just spent the day at the beach.

Mixed with or applied before Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation to add a touch more luminosity to your skin.

And of course you can also use this product to apply a concentrated, natural radiating glow to specific areas of your face.

What I Enjoyed

This product is true to its word when it says that it is radiant! And as a person who loves to look glowy, I love this.

This product is very luminous and a little bit will take you a long way.

Seriously though, use too much of this product and you might start having issues with how it looks

I’m also a fan of how light weight this product feels.

Much like the Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation, this product on it own is barely noticeable as I wear it throughout the day.

I would also say that its long wearing claims are mostly true.

While I have noticed some separation on my face after long days of chasing after kids, running after contractors and cycling (noticeable around the corners of my mouth) for the most part, the Forever Glow Star Filter stays in place well for me for at least 7 hours.

And while this product doesn’t claim to be water proof, the Dior Forever Glow Star Filter didn’t just wash away in water either, making it a good option for beach and pool days.

In my experience, the Glow Star Filter last longer on its own, but even mixed with a foundation, I’m getting a whole days worth of wear from it without having to retouch up my makeup.

I also love that this product seems to be a part of Dior’s preeminent collection.

I feel like most luxury companies are fixated on pumping out a ton of limited releases (Dior is definitely guilty of this), so its refreshing to know that a product that works well for you will be restocked.

What I Think Can Improve

While there’s a lot that I like about this product, there is definitely room for improvement.

As mentioned earlier, it’s easy for this product to get out of hand.

This product is so concentrated and thick that even a pump can have you looking way too shiny.

With the product being thicker as well, it doesn’t move nearly as easily as the Dior Forever foundation products. This makes it harder to blend and can leave you with little concentrated patches around your face if you’re not careful.

I also prefer to wear this product on its own, as when mixed with foundation, it starts to feel heavy on my skin.

Though on its own this product is very warm toned and reads orange. It would be nice to see Dior launch more neutral shades

Dior Forever Glow Maximizers

The Dior Forever Glow Maximizers are limited run, multi use liquid highlighter that is infused with all the skin care that the Dior Forever line is known for.

Formulated from 92% natural origin ingredients, the Glow Maximizers contain iris extract to help hydrate the skin and ultra fine pearly pigments that create a long lasting glowy finish.

The Glow Maximizers were released in 6 different, highly pigmented shades, not too dissimilar from the colors found in the Backstage Glow Face Palettes and are advertised for use on the face as a highlighter, bronzer or blush and are also tested to be used as eyeshadows.

What I Enjoyed

First and foremost, the applicator on this product is amazing!

Upgrading from the standard tapered applicator that is found on the Dior Forever Skin Correct, the dofa applicator for there Glow Maximizers is fatter with and angled surface that can be use for both a wider or more precision applications.

The product itself is very nice as well. I think the color pay off is prefect and give you this blush-y highlighter effect on your checks

This product is long wearing. There was only minimal migration with this product on my face over an active 7 hour period.

Like the Forever Glow Star Filter, the Glow Maximizers also did decent in water and didn’t just slide off my face when they got wet. I think these would also do very well on a beach vacation.

Lastly, these feel great on the skin. They are not a heavy product and it doesn’t turn into an oily mess on my cheeks after several hours of wear.

What I think Can Improve

These are marketed as being eyeshadows as well, but I don’t think that’s a good idea.

I have normal to slightly oily eyelids and these liquid eyeshadows just became a total mess on my lids. The didn’t really stay in place and seeped into my eye–which as a contact wearer is never fun.

The best way to get these to work for your eyes is to dab a very small amount of product onto the back of your hand, then take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and apply it to your lids, dispersing the product lightly and evenly. You won’t get much color payoff this way, but it won’t become a greasy mess either.

I noticed that with the new formula for the Chanel Les 4 Ombres eyeshadows, that it explicitly states that these products have been tested with optamolegoist, yet I haven’t seen any notice on the Glow Maximizer product site that makes the same claim, so I’m not too sure if they actually have been tested for use on the eyes.

I also noticed that if your skin is really dry, this highlighter may cling to a dry patch or two. Not in a major way, but I can be noticeable up close, So I would just make sure that your skin is properly moisturized before using these.

Are These Worth The Money?

The Dior Forever Glow Star Filter and Glow Maximizers are very similar to several other products that are already on the market.

Both Chanel and Charlotte Tilbury, and even NYX have released similar skin enhancing tints that can be worn on their own or mixed with a foundation.

So if you already have one of these, then it might not make sense for you to run out and get one of these.

However, if you are in the market for a new one, and you’re a general fan or Dior, this could be a good opetion for you.

The Dior Forever Glow Star Filter is right about in the middle of the road as fair as pricing for these products go, coming in at $55.00USD, where as the Chanel N1 de Chanel comes in at $65.00USD and the Charlotte Tilbury option comes in at $49.00USD for it’s full sized product.

As for the Glow Maximizers, these are very similar to the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand, which I own and love.

The Dior Glow Maximizer is slightly more expense, coming in at $45.00USD, but I do think that Dior does have the better applicator out of these two products though.

If your not partial to a liquid highlighter, I would take a look at the Backstage Glow Palettes, as they run about $48.00USD each for 4 shades which mirror those found in the the Glow Maximizer line.

Especially with these being marketed as a limited run, these palettes from the Backstage line could be a better option for some.

Final Thoughts

Overall I think this new release from Dior is going to be prefect for the upcoming warmer weather.

Despite the issues with the Forever Glow Star Filter being a bit too orange and not the easiest to blend, I can still see it having a place in my spring and summer make up routine.

I also think that the Forever Glow Maximizers are perfectly formulated– from the amount of pigment in the product to how easily the product is to blend out onto your skin, this product is easy to use, which I love as a mom.

While you can easily find similar product on the market for a lower price, I love that Dior offers its clients the best of both worlds with its skin care infused make up.

As someone with sensitive skin, I feel a lot better having products that are more natural on my face and body.

I do think that there is room for these products to improve, and I hope that they do get an update, as Dior is alway reformulating. But over all, I think most people would be happy with these.

Are you going to try the Dior Forever Glow Star Filter or the Forever Glow Maximizers? I would love to hear your opinion. Be sure to join us over on Instagram and Youtube to continue this conversation with our community!
