Nowadays, everyone is trying to make a bit of extra coin. And honestly, theres not excuse not to. There are so many side hustles in on in 2019, that your honestly leaving money on the table if you don’t take advantage.
This is great news for many SAHMs who want to add a bit of lining to their pocket books, but don’t/ or can’t necessarily leave the house for a few hours.
Many of the opportunities you’ll find for legit remote work don’t actually come with a steady check. The trade off there though is that you can make a lot of money, depending on how much work you put in.
However there are some jobs out there that offer steady, decent pay if you know where to look for them. And you can earn anywhere from $1,000-$3,500 a month (not a bad check!)
Below, I have made a quick list of the 5 ways SAHM (or anyone really) can make real money by working at home.

Get Paid Quickly!
Keep in mind, most of these jobs are contractual jobs–meaning you have to do your own taxes. Fortunately, services like Payoneer work like a banking service. They allow you to accept your pay in any currency and they can genorate a 1099 for you to use for your taxes.

Transcriptionist
I first heard about this job from my neighbor when she got started. There are many companies out there who are hiring for people transcribe audio files into text. And a lot of these companies offer paid training too.
This is prefect for mommies with toddlers because it only requires a good internet connection and a few hours a day. Most remote transcriptionist work 15-30 hours a week, and starting pay is around $15/hr.
If you’re looking for transcription work, a great place to start is Transcribe Me!
Data Entry
Data Entry specailist is probably one of the most coveted remote positions that there is. If you can follow directions and type, you’ll have no problems with this work. Most of this work involves taking scan of documents and entering them in manually into a system.
This type of work is great for moms who need to create their own schedule. However, many companies will want you to commit to 20 hours a week. Pay generally starts of at $12-$15/hour, so you can easily pull in an extra $1k a month.

Search Engine Evaluator
Search Engine Evaluators review and categorize content for clients so that search engines can better function. While the work isn’t mindless, it’s pretty easy.
Depending on the project, expect to work between 10-25 hours a week. And most search engine evaluators get paid between $12-$14/hour. I have personally done this work before, and while it was tedious and repetitive, I made an extra $1.5k that month working 4 hours a day during the week, so I wasn’t complaining.

Virtual Assistant
A VA is an administrative assistant who works remotely. They perform a range of task including: scheduling, drafting papers, editing post, sending emails, data entry, sorting invoices etc.
While VA’s can find part time work, many find themselves putting in a full day. So this would be prefect for moms who are early raisers and can put in some hours before the kiddos are up, or for mamas who have babes who can entertain themselves for a bit. Average pay for a VA is around $15/ hour, with some making as much as $50/hour.

eTutoring
Online tutoring is a great option for mommies who love teaching. What’s best, the demand for tutors is actually up, so there are plenty of opportunities to find work here.
eTutors can work anywhere from 5-30 hours a week, depending on how many sessions they pick up, and can get paid $12-$25/hour
Companies like VIPKids and Tutors.com are great places to start your teaching side gig!

Bonus: Gig on Fivver
Here’s a bonus way to make money in this gig economy. Sign up for a Fivver account. Fivver is a great marketplace for mama’s with marketable skills, such as data entry, VA-ing, editing, proofreading, etc, etc. And the best part is, you get to be your own boss this time. Sign up for Fivver here for free!
If you’re really looking for ways to make steady money from home, then I’m happy to report that there are many opportunities out there. These are just the main ones that I think would be great for moms (and dads) who stay with their kiddos. Take some time to reflect on your skill sets and figurer out which type of work would best suit you.

Have you done any of these personally? I would love to hear about your experience!
