As you can tell, I’ve been WAY into beauty lately.

It’s been really fun to play in my make up now that I have the energy to do so again.

Plus, I’ve been loving learning and discovering more about the beauty side of many of these luxury brands.

When I saw that Dior launched their Spring 2024 collection recently, I gave myself permission to pick up a few items to play in.

In line with the Pantone color for 2024, this spring time collection from Dior plays heavy in many peachy and pink tones, which normally works out well for me.

So for today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you which items I picked up from the collection, how I liked them, how long they wore for and if I think they’re worth picking up for yourself or not.

Also, I apologize in advance about the quality of some of these photos. Had to get my camera repaired. But these photos should still work in giving you the details you need about this collection.

Diorshow 5 Eye shadow Palette

I own a few of the Dior Backstage eye shadow palettes and absolutely LOVE those all around.

I had very hight hopes for trying out this Diorshow 5 Eye Shadows 5 Eye shadow palette– after all, the Diorshow shadows are suppose to be the more premium product.

For the spring 2024 collection, Dior released two new shades; a more metallic, cool and purple-y toned palette, “Pink Organza” and the more iridescent rosy, peach focused palette. “Popeline Peach”.

Since I recently picked up the Chanel Winter Health Glow Les Beiges collection with that amazingly beautiful purple eyeshadows, I opted for the Popeline Peach palette.

In the pictures, this palette looks like it has a lot of color range and seems like it would play well with my deeper complexion.

But after using this palette a few times, I have some conflicting thought about it.

The biggest issue I have with this palette is the formula.

When I feel the shadows with my fingers, they have that creamy powdery feel that I have come to associate with more luxurious formulations with higher emollient contents.

However, this creaminess doesn’t translate as well to eyes when applied.

I have tried applying these a few different ways but it still felt and looked somewhat dry on my eyes, and looked patchy in some spots.

With LOTS of prep and working, I can get this shadow to work, but in this price range, I shouldn’t have to do all that.

The best way I could find to apply these and get them to look decent was with the foam applicator that came with the palette, or with my fingers.

I have also come to dislike how close the shades are to each other in color.

In the pan, they all look distinctive enough. However, when applied to the skin, the 3 rosy shades appear to be pretty much the same.

The pearly, iridescent finish in this palette ends up falling kind of flat for me. I feel like this palette is missing a sparkly shade and a deeper shade that can be used to add more dimension to it.

Lastly, these shadows need to be buildit up, especially on deeper complexions. This palette is nowhere near as pigmented as my Dior Backstage palette.

This not be an issue for those with lighter complexions. However, this collection specifically mentions that it aims to work with all skin tone. And I think it kinda missed the mark here.

Despite these issues with this palette, I do feel like it can be used on its own to create a lovely and light spring time look–but it will be a very basic look lacking some depth.

Dior Rouge Blush

While I was on the Dior site, I decided that I might as well pick up the new Dior Rouge Blush in Delicate Rose that they released with this spring collection.

But I honestly was having second thoughts after I bought this blush. Looking at a lot of the swatches online, this blush appeared to be more on the ashy side. I was very afraid that it wouldn’t show up on my skin.

I’m happy to report however that I was so wrong about this product.

This blush is definitely on the lighter side and translates to a more pinky shade on my deeper skin.

It comes in a stain finish which I thinks looks very natural. Like the Dior Backstage Rosy Glow blushes, this blush is buildable as well, so you can deepen the color payout if you wish (thought it will still be fairly light on the skin).

The one things that I don’t enjoy about this blush is that it does seem to highlight texture on my skin.

I didn’t have this issue with the other Rouge Blush that I own, so I don’t know if it’s somethings that is only an issue with this limited batch or maybe just the color. But I’m not a fan of how this particular blush highlights texture on my checks.

Over all thought this a a beautiful blush that works well for me and gives your skin just a little bit of flush that I think is over all lovely despite it highlighting some texture.

I don’t think this is something that I would tell people to rush out and get though– as you can pick up the Dior Rosy Glow in Coral, which will give you a similar color and I’ve never had to deal with the texture issues to this extent with that line of blushes.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer

Try the Dior Addict Lip Maximizers at Sephora

Dior has released several new Lip Maximizer for the spring and I think they have some very interesting colors!

I will have to do a dedicated post to the Dior Addict Lip Maximizers later but briefly, this soft, lip pumping gloss is a fan favorite, coming in a wide variety of colors and sheer, glittery and opaque finishes.

I opened for the shade 067–Rose Gold, which is more on the opaque side with just a bit of shimmer to it.

No surprises here for me as I have been a big fan of these Dior Addict Lip Maximizers for years and feel fairly familiar with this product.

This product did undergo a reformulation within the last year or so and while at first I didn’t like it, it has now grown on me.

I do appreciate how smooth these Lip Maximizers feel on my lips and I enjoy how they softly plump my lips without introducing a lot of irritation.

This formulation also has a lot of occlusives in it, making it a wonderful barrier product to wear in the winter and early spring when the weather is a bit drier.

As far as how this product ties into the rest of the spring collection: I feel like these colors do play nicely together.

The light browny shade of this Lip Maximizer goes perfectly with the Rouge Blush in this collection and even works with the pinky tones of the Diorshow eyeshadows. I do think it would also go well with the Pink Organza shade of the Diordshow eye shadow palette too if that’s the one you picked up.

Dior Vernis

I have been using the Chanel Le Vernis for a few years now and for the most part I find them to be decent.

So when I saw that I could cross the threshold and gain Platinum membership with the Dior loyalty program with just spending $25.00USD more, getting a bottle of polish at $30.00USD didn’t seem like a bad I deal.

I couldn’t decided between the two spring shades that they had out, so I opted for both the 555-Popeline which is think pinky corrall-y shade and the 595 Lilic Organza which is this more periwinkle, lilac shade.

So far I have only tried Popeline, but I can’t imagine that the formulation between the two would be much different.

I do like how smoothly this polish applies to the nail. And I also like the shape of the brush. I feel the brush is tapered just enough to fit the natural curves of the nail nicely.

I also have to say that I was surprised by the depth in this polish as well. I didn’t notice this when I was checking out, but this polish does have a light shimmer to it, which I think is a fun touch for any season!

Unlike a lot of the softer, more muted colors in this collection, I really like the richness and vibrancy of the Popeline shade here too. It provides a nice contrast of the other shades in this collection while still matching that light spring time feel.

I did make the mistake though on using a clear coat on top of this polish before it dried all the way down. With two products flashing off at different rates, it left my original application cracked and filled with bubbles at the end.

After reapplying it with two coats and allowing it time to cure before I went back in with a gel coat, the nails looked prefect.

I’m still a big believer that other nail products out there like Essie are just as good as these Dior and Chanel Vernis. However, I always do my nails at home so I don’t personally mind getting this as a treat for myself.

Final Thoughts

At first glance this collection looks perfectly curated for the bright spring months ahead.

While I find the collection to be cohesive and gorgeous to look at, I was disappointed in how the Diorshow eyeshadow palette translated on my skin–both with formulation and with pigmentation.

Although this palette does have different finishes in it, the colors end up looking pretty much the same (at least on my complexion) and its lacking a color that would give it good depth and make it more versatile.

While I don’t think any luxury beauty products are necessary, this palette in particular is one that I think most people can skip. I will be finding ways to use this, but it just feels…very redundant.

This is a pretty palette for a lighter day time look though, so if you’re really linking these colors and fine having a palette that is not as dynamic (this could be good for those who want an easy make up palette they don’t have to think about), then this could work out for you

On the other hand, the Rouge Blush released in this spring collection was a nice surprise for me.

I know that many people didn’t actually like this one, but I found that it did look naturally glowy on my skin.

I absolutely love the stain finish this blush has and how the peachy color translate to a more pinky undertone on my skin.

However, I didn’t really like how this blush seemed to highlight the texture on my check.

It wasn’t so bad to the point where I wouldn’t wear the blush. But I have other Dior Rouge Blushes that don’t have this issue.

I don’t know if I just had a dud or if the freezing weather during shipping effected the product as well as the eyeshadows, but unless you have your heart set on this color, this might also be one that most people should skip as you likely have something similar already.

I think the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer is always a good choice for those who want a little bit or luxury in their life.

I have been using this product for years at this point and I love how it plumps my lips without any irritation and how moisturized they stay with this gloss.

I think the new color choices they had to offer for spring was…intresting, to say the least. However, these colors are very sheer, kind of like the MAC lip glosses that were going viral this summer, so I can see the vision on how these can play subtly in your make up looks.

Lastly, the Dior Vernis are beautiful polishes. You do have to be careful about how you apply them, or else you can end up with cracking and bubbling– which no one wants. But if you take your time, allow the polish to properly dry and then add a top coat, you’ll have a pretty manicure.

But you can also get a pretty manicure with a nail polish from the drug store, so this is not a must by any means.

Overall, I feel like this collection is beautiful, but ultimately left me feeling pretty underwhelm as it felt very limited in what it delivered.

Honestly, the freebies are more exciting to me than most of these products after having tried them, which I feel shouldn’t be the case.

I don’t want to say that I regret this purchase, because I can find applications for each of these products and I will enjoy them for the spring.

But I’m truly hoping for something better to play around in from Dior later on this year.
