Chanel Les Beiges winter collection has dropped online as of last week and gosh does it look beautiful!

It’s giving me all the alpine vibes with its cool toned mauves, violets and pinks and has me ready to visit a ski resort.

I’m generally not the hugest fan of the winter makeup collections because they tend to be too cool toned for my liking.

This season however, Chanel gave us many beautiful pieces that I thought would look nice on my deeper complexion.

So of course I hopped online to order a few pieces to try out for myself and to share with you.

And this time around, I was fortunate to be able to stop by the boutique at Nordstrom in Spokane as well, so I got to try EVERYTHING!

So for this blog, I want to dive into this Winter Healthy Glow Les Beige collection from Chanel, share with you how these products look and wear and if I would recommend picking up this collection for yourself.

A lot of these pieces are limited runs, so I’m hopping that by the time this review comes out, there are still some pieces left for ya’ll to try if you’re interested.

Of course, I’ll link everything that I can as well if you’re interested in shopping this collection too.

I also picked up the limited run Chance Hand lotions from Chanel as well. I wanted to give them their own attention, so you can read more about this product in this blog here.

What is Chanel Les Beiges?

I thought that I would start this blog off by giving an overview of what Chanel Les Beiges is. I myself am not too familiar with the Chanel beauty seasons, other than when the new releases will be, so I figured that a bit of context and history may be good for us here.

Created by Peter Philips for summer 2013, the Les Beiges line from Chanel is meant to invoke the feeling of being on vacation in the south of France, where Coco Chanel use to visit frequently herself for holidays.

The make up is meant to leave the skin looking beautifully sun kissed; as if you’ve spent the day outdoors, while utilizing cutting edge make up technology and skin care friendly ingredients to give you a glow that looks like its radiating from within.

Since its inaugural release, the Les Beiges makeup collection has always been a highly anticipated make up release for the summer months–which is why it came as such a surprise that Chanel decided to release a winter Les Beiges collection 11 years into this line.

The Chanel Les Beiges winter collection has many of the same hallmarks features as more traditional products in this line.

Chanel still opted to continue the theme of light and natural healthy glow from within for this winter rendition of this collection, but gave it a noticeably more cool twist.

Pink and mauve-y shades with ever so slightly pearlescent and icy finishes give this Les Beiges collection the feeling of spending all day out on the slopes.

Healthy Winter Glow Blushes

I wanted to start off with the Healthy Winter Glow blushes as I feel like this is the artistic stand out for this winter Les Beiges collection.

Coming in 3 colors, Rose Polaire, Mauve Glace and Corail Givre, these blushes are embossed with a beautiful snowflake design with the iconic double “CC’ design.

These blushes come with the classic Chanel half moon travel brush that I find to be a lot thicker compared to the brushes that they’ve provided for us in the past.

While I have always kept these brushes just in case of an emergency while traveling, I actually feel like these current brushes can do a decent job picking up and placing product on the skin.

Seeing Chanel add value to their product is a welcome addition to me, especially with all the price increases and quality control issues the brand has been experiencing as a whole lately.

As for the blush itself, I found the formula to feel soft and slightly powdery against my fingers.

When I swatched them on my hand, they appeared a little sheer but it did have a beautiful glow to it.

Much like the Dior Rosy Glow, I found these blushes to have a light but buildable pigmentation. While many might not like this, I think it’s perfect for building up a natural glow from within type look.

Despite this being a buildable formula, I was honestly surprised with how well the colors Rose Polaire and Corail Givre showed up against my deeper complexion. I only needed one swipe of product to get the color to show up against my skin.

I have tried a few Chanel blushes in the past, and don’t feel like I had the best of luck when it comes to color payoff on my skin with the lighter shades. With several of their shades, I’ve had to really dig in to get anything to show up. But I felt like all 3 actually looked really nice on my skin.

I originally purchased just the Mauve Glace online, but after trying it on at the boutique, I also picked up the Corial Givre. I don’t think anyone can go wrong with any of these shades.

As far as wear goes, these blushes stayed in place pretty well over a 7 hour period (in which I had some hot flashes and napped as well). I did notice that the color diffused a little bit over my skin and that I was seeing a bit more sparkle than I had perviously. But this could also be from the eyeshadows, which I will cover next.

Healthy Glow Eyeshadow

I don’t have the best experiences with the Chanel quad eye shadows. Every time I’ve bought or tried one, I’ve only ended up being able to use one shade.

A lot of times, I find the Chanel pressed eyeshadows to not have enough pigment in them to work well on my deeper complexion.

So initially, I wasn’t even considering trying the Healthy Glow Eyeshadow palette.

But I SOOO wish that I had tried these eyeshadows earlier, as I feel like the formula (at least for me) is leaps and bounds better.

The shades in the Healthy Glow Cool Eyeshadow palette felt really soft and refined, almost creamy on my fingers when I tried them out in the boutique and they actually showed up on my deeper complexion without looking super muted and without a primer.

I will say that with a brush application, the shadows are VERY powdery, which was a compliant that I had with the quad eye shadows as well because it can lead to a lot of fallout.

But once I navigated around how much product gets picked up with a brush, I was able to create a beautiful look.

Having a more warm complexion, I normally avoid cooler tone pallets as I feel like they don’t always look the best on my skin.

However, their shimmery shades give off this beautiful icy effect on the eyes, that reminds me a lot of this Fenty Diamond Bomb.

While the sheer light pink shade doesn’t do much for me, the deep almost berry tone and vibrant almost metallically violet magenta shade with the shimmery topper shade look so beauty on any skin shade.

These shadows wore nicely over a period of 7 hours as well. They looked just as vibrant after some hot flashes and a nap as it did when I initially applied them. I would say that the more shimmer shade may have had a little fall out over the day, but for the most part, the shadows looked the same and didn’t crease on me either.

Rouge Coco Baume

I generally feel pretty indifferent about the Rouge Coco Baume as well.

They do feel nice. But for the price, you aren’t really getting anything that special.

For me, the limited color selection that they offer doesn’t really work the best with my skin in my opinion. I just don’t see the point in investing in lip products that I have to wear a lip line in order for them to work for me anymore.

I also feel like this product is very similar to the YSL Beauty Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm–which I just enjoy WAY better than the Chanel product here.

However, this run of the Rouge Coco Baumes, save for one shade, all worked really nicely with my skin tone.

I really liked the shade Keep Cool as it gave this cool icy topper effect. I was temped to get it, but settled for the shade Cocoon, which is this pretty berry tone. I felt like I could get more daily use out of a shade like this, especially in the winter time.

The more pinky shade Chilling Pink was also very nice, but it appeared to be way more sheer than the other two options for me.

Healthy Winter Glow Primer

I fell in love with the Chanel La Base prime this year when I tired it for the first time back in April. So I defiantly wanted to give this one a shot as well.

I straight away ordered this in the shade ‘Light Copper’, as I felt that this one would look best with my deeper skin complexion.

Looking at this product online, it reminded me a lot of the Spackle Skin primer from Laura Geller that I used to use years ago and always thought that it left my skin looking so sun kissed and glowy.

I find that this product does indeed leave a beautiful little glow to the skin.

The sheer bronzy finishes leave the skin looking radiant and natural glowy–as you would expect from this collection.

It’s not something that I would have expected from a winter collection but I’m glad to have it because it looks beautiful on the skin.

I will say that I find this product when buffed out all the way to look VERY similar to the La Base primer that Chanel has with luster drops added. So if you’re already stocked up on that primer, then you might want to skip this one.

I tried the other shades of this primer on at the boutique and I think they would all work well on any shade of skin tone–it just depends on what sheer finish you’re looking for.

The shade Icy Beige gave my skin this slightly pinkish finish that I feel is more inline with a cold girl aesthetic.

And the shade Frosty White gave my skin a more icy finishes, which I again associate with a more alpine winter look.

But I still love this Icy Copper shade and the little bit of warmth that it gives to my skin.

Le Verins

I’ve been meaning to work on a post for these Chanel nail polishes for a long minute now. But when I saw this pink shade, Skieuse in the collection, I felt like I just had to try it out.

This is definitely a more milky bubble gum soft pink shade, that I think would be prefect for a bridal party of wedding.

Chanel also offered a more milky white shade for this collection, Galciale. It does look like a beautiful white shade, but was too similar to the Insomniaque shade that they released last summer and for their holiday set for me to want to invest in this one.

I will get around to making a more in-depth review of the Chanel nail polishes. But for now, I will say that these are a decent polish and when applied correctly have a nice finish that can stay chip free for a week or so.

I feel like you can nail polishes that are just as nice as these for way cheaper ( I LOVE Essie nail polishes!) but if you or someone you know is a Chanel lover, these are great gift options.

Prices and Price Increases

I wanted to real quick go over the prices for each of the items in this collection as well as quickly touch on the price increase rumored to be happening at Chanel and how it may affect Chanel Beauty in particular.

Price

Starting off with the Health Glow Blushes, they retail for $72.00USD for 0.38oz of product. This is pretty expensive, even by Chanel standards.

The Douceur D’Equinoxe Harmony Blushes released for the fall-winter 2023 collection are about the same size and retailed for $65.00USD.

Moving on to the Healthy Glow ‘Cool’ eyeshadow pallet: this retails for $72.00USD for 0.16oz of product. This is $2.00USD more expensive than then pervious Healthy Glow eyeshadows that retail for $70.00USD.

This is also more expensive than the Dior Diorshow 5 palletes which retail for $65.00USD-$68.00USD depending on the collection.

Next, the Rouge Coco Baume for this collection is priced at $45.00USD for 0.11oz of product. This product did not have a price increase compared to the other Rouge Coco Baumes. However, this products is slightly more expensive than the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm which I prefer that retails for $43.00USD for 0.11oz of product

The Health Glow primer retails for $54.00USD for 1 fl.oz of product. This makes it $4.00USD more expensive than the La Base primer options that Chanel offers that retails for $50.00 for the same amount of product.

Lastly, the Le Vernis nail polishes retail for $32.00 USD. The prices for the Chanel nail polishes have been creeping up very quickly over the years here, however the nail polishes in this collection are the same for all the Chanel nail polishes across the board.

These are slightly more expensive than the Dior nail polishes which retail for $30.00USD but slightly less than the Gucci nail polishes that retail for $35.00USD.

On average, you are paying 2%-7% of a mark up to have the items in this winter Les Beiges collection from Chanel.

Price Increase

As for the price increases, after several public statements as well as rumor reports on reddit and IG, it is speculated that the brand may be rising prices yet again to head off economic trade winds.

While most of the chatter with these price increases is rightfully focused on the handbags, traditionally, their beauty products also see a price increase.

As I briefly mentioned in my review of the Chanel Lip Duo’s, many of their beauty products experience a price hike as well. So I wouldn’t be surprised if many of their popular beauty items end up costing 2%-5% more in the next coming months as well.

I don’t think this shocks us as much as when they raise prices for bags and ready-to-wear because 5% of $10,000USD is very different than 5% of $45.00USD.

But this price hike can add up for Chanel beauty lovers over times, especially though who end up buying a few pieces from each collection.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think this is a beautiful reinterpretation of the Chanel Les Beiges concept for winter time.

I was very surprised with how much I really liked the Healthy Glow eyeshadow palettes, as well as with how well the blushes worked for my skin over all.

The primer is a nice little update to the La Base primer that Chanel already has in there line up.

I also enjoyed the 3 new shade options for the Rouge Coco Baumes and LOVE this soft milky pink Le Vernis that they released.

The winter Les Beiges collection feels cohesive and while it may not give of the same beach resort vibes as the pervious entries into this line, it is fresh and reminiscent of time spent outdoors in an alpine style resort, which is equally luxurious.

While this is a very pretty collection aesthetically, there is nothing here that is drastically different from anything else available from Chanel, or other beauty suppliers.

Even within the luxury beauty space, many of the items found in this collection can be swapped out for other products–and likely for a lesser cost.

I feel like this collection is mostly for the Chanel and beauty lovers and collectors, who like to own a piece of each release.

I also feel like this collection, particularly the Healthy Glow Blushes with their beautiful embossing would make wonderful gifts, especially for Lunar New Year’s or Valentine’s Day.

Everything in this collection can be used as an every day product for an effortless natural and beautiful look. But you can also achieve very similar effortless look with more pocket friendly items as well.

What were your thoughts on this collection? Did you end up purchasing anything? I would love to hear what you think about the Chanel Winter Les Beiges collection below. Also, head on over to my IG and Youtube account to continue this conversation on luxury beauty over there!
