I’m focusing a lot on luxury beauty gifts as these are generally the most accessible to get and can have great value added options during the holidays.

The Minirosso Lipstick Set available at Sephora for $50.00USD includes 3 mini Valentino Rosso lipsticks in a faux leather stud textured case.
The color selection is nice. Including one red and two more nude like pink shades, I feel like this selection works well for a wide group of people and can easily be made useable with lipliner for those who it doesn’t work for. Of course I would prefer that these colors be universal for everyone, but I can appreciate how difficult that can be to achieve.
While these lipsticks may be mini, they are very pigmented and you don’t have to use much to get a good payoff. I also enjoy how creamy they are too. and with their small size, I feel like these lipsticks are great for travel! I keep a few in my travel kit and like to toss one in a clutch if I’m bringing a smaller bag out for the night.
Overall, if you’re looking to dip your toe into Valentino Beauty, this set is a good way to go about it.
Value
Besides the cosmetics case (which we’ll talk about in its own section below) I feel like this holiday set provides a lot of value.
Currently at Sephora, the Minirosso lipsticks are available for purchase from $25.00-$30.00USD each. This means purchasing this set gives you an automatic ~33% discount verse buying them separately.
The draw back here is that you are stuck with the colors that they are offering in the set. However, I don’t think the color selection is bad by any means and they should work for most people. If anything, this set is a good introduction to Valentino Beauty for those who haven’t tried their products before.
Also, this is one of the few products that has actually come down in price which isn’t something you see often in the luxury space. If I’m remembering correctly, this product was around $52.00USD last year. Seeing that this gift set still comes with all the same items as last year, a 4% price decrees is welcome in the face of the many increases we’re seeing.
Finally, this product is very similar to the Rosso Valentine Lipstick set sold exclusively at Nordstroms, but for 1/3 the price. The shade selection is very similar with 2 additional colors. And with the Rosso Valentine set, you are also getting full sized lipsticks as well.
Bottom line, with either of these sets, you are saving quite a bit of coin on these lipsticks. So if you wanted to give them a try, now would be the best time to do so.

Practical Uses For The Cosmetics Case
I wanted to take about the cosmetics case on its own for a little bit because this is what honestly drew me into this set last year and what made me re purchase again.
I LOVE small leather goods (SLGs). Especially when I’m in bigger work bags or a diaper bag, SLGs are a good way to stay organized. But they can often get expensive for what they are worth when you are shopping designer and luxury.
This is where I think you get the most value for your money with the Minirosso Lipstick Set; the case is essentially an SLG that is prefect for daily use. For me, that means I can look at cost per wear when considering this purchase (go girl math!)
I have the case in black from last year and used it for at least 25 weeks, making the cost per wear $2.08USD/ week.
Compared to my Kiragami set which comes to $30.00USD/week when used over the same time period, this is a significant price difference.
I personally think that if you’re a handbag lover or someone looking to expand or get started with your SLG collection, then this Minirosso Lipstick Set is worth the buy from the cosmetics case alone.
If you’re not into Valentino lipsticks, you can still get the case with a mini Born in Roma from Sephora.com or Valentino Beauty with a $130.00USD purchase. Clearly, this is more of a price commitment. But I think it would be worth it if you were already planing to make a purchase around that amount, such as a full size fragrance.
I do want to mention thought, that at this price point, you are NOT getting real leather. I felt this important to mention because some people were disappointed last year that it wasn’t. If this is going to be an issue for you, then it may be better to skip this set.
Final Thoughts
The Valentino Minirosso Lipstick set is one of my favorite luxury holidays sets out at the moment and I can’t help but recommend this one!
It’s prefect for those who want to dip their toes into Valentino Beauty and see how their lipsticks work for them. And the fact that the cosmetics case can be used for daily use brings a lot of value and utility to this set that others just don’t have.
This is a great gift that won’t break the bank for any fashion and beauty lover (including yourself) and something you should snap up before it’s sold out.
However, if you already know that you (or the person you are shopping for ) is not into lipsticks or wouldn’t appreciate faux leather, then this may be a gift set to skip.
