The Louis Vuitton Croisette first popped up on my radar about 2 years ago.
I like a little bit of croquette core in my style and I felt like the shape paired with the damier azure color was super feminine.
I was so close to getting this beauty back in 2023, but I ended up going for my Speedy 20 instead.
But I couldn’t get this bag out my mind and quickly decided that it was going to be the bag that I got for my birthday this year.
This bag is truly unique for me as I traveled and compared the price of the Croisette in 3 different countries as well as different locations here in the US to find it for the best price for my birthday.
I’m so lucky that I got the chance to compare shopping experiences across locations and I’m excited to share with ya’ll what I have learned.
But for today’s blog specifically, I want to share with you al my first impressions on the Louis Vuitton Croisette hand bag.
I will be going over a brief history of the bag, how it wears, sharing what fits insides as well as sharing with you where I ended up getting the best price for this bag new.

All about the Louis Vuitton Croisette
First released 8 years ago in May of 2016, the Louis Vuitton Croisette seems to be inspired by the Promenade de la Croisette in Cannes, France.
Set on the beautiful back drop of the Mediterranean Sea, the Promenade de la Croisette is know for festivals (including the Cannes Film Festival), luxury shopping, fine dinning and resort hotels.
The Promenade de la Croisette is a place where people can experiences casual, more laid back, resort type luxury, and the Louis Vuitton Croisette cross body exudes all of that feeling.
Structure of the bag
This bag measure 9.4″ in length, 6.7″in height and 3.7″ in width with a 22.0″ strap drop
With a more structured and tapered design, the Croisette over all has a polished feel to it–especially with the inclusion of a top handle.
It’s flap style with the golden S-lock closure at the front also helps to make the bag feel more sophisticated.
The choice of canvas material however, along with a simple leather strap makes this bag much more approachable and casual.
In many ways the Croisette reminds me of a Chanel Coco handle; though the Croisette is a bag that I feel like I can take to the beach or to super low key functions where the Coco handle would be just too exquisite.

About my Croisette
The Louis Vuitton Croisette comes in both damier azur and damier ebene options with some limited edition prints done from time to time.
I got my specific Croisette in damier azur.
It has the beautiful rose ballerina canvas interior and is made up of one primary cavity with one slip pocket big enough to fit a few cards or a small compact.
The leather tab on the inside says “Louis Vuitton, Paris” with no made in stamp, leading me to believe that this bag was made in the USA, as I’ve noticed that the newer made in the USA bags don’t say so any more.
In total, I paid $1,968.48 USD (including taxes) for my Croisette
Where I bought my bag
I ended up buying my bag in Waikiki, Honolulu.
I was fortunate enough to be traveling around North America at the time so I got the chance to compare prices in many locations to get the best deal.
The price in Canada was pretty comparable to the price in Honolulu, however taxes made it slightly more expensive.
I was surprised to learn that down in Cancun, the prices for luxury goods was more expensive. My guess is that it might have been because it was a resort and import taxes added on. But it was about $200 more expensive in Mexico than it was in the states.
The best place to buy this bag would have honestly been in Portland. With the 0% sales tax, it would have only cost me $1,960.00 USD flat.
If I had a SA at the Portland store, I would have probably bought it there and had it shipped to my friends house who lives just across the border from me–about 30 minutes away.
But seeing that the difference between the the price in Portland VS Honolulu was less than $9.00 USD this time around, I was pretty ok with buy the bag in Hawaii.
While I did stop by the store in Ala Moana, I purchased by bag at the Louis Vuitton in the Gump Building because it generally has more stock. If you want to read about my experience at that store, read this blog post here.
How it wears
This has got to be one of my favorite bags to wear as its just so easy when it comes to using.
While I do wish that it had an adjustable strap, the 22.0″ strap drop lands in a nice area of my hips. The bag sits at the prefect plane for me to have easy access to it.
At this length, it also isn’t bouncing around at my hip while I’m walking; rather it moves with my gate and is really comfortable.
While I do also thing that an adjustable strap is better, I’m an average height so if this strap work great for me, it will work decently to great for most other people as well.
And if you just want to forgo the strap all together, the Croisette also has a beautiful top handle.
I love a good top handle as it makes the bag easy to grab and go.
I also think there’s just something so feminine about a top handle bag that you can carry in front of you or in the crock of your arm.
Where it this way is also great when I’m out shopping and want even quicker accesses to my bag or if I want my hand bag close but still want to be hands free.
Lastly, because this bag is mostly made up of canvas, the bag is very light.
It will start to get a little heavy if you over load it with heavier items of course, but compared to my Speedy 20’s or my Alma BB, this bag feels a lot better on my shoulder.
If you have back and shoulder issues like I do, this may be something you want to consider.

What fits inside
This is what I typically carry inside of my Croisette while I’m using it:
- -Mini Pochette
- -iPhone
- -battery charger
- Zoe wallet
- Cles pochette
- Jane PM notebook
- Pen
- small travel perfume
- Small hand sanitizer
The Croisette can also fit the following:
- -Medium sized long wallet
- -Louis Vuitton cigarette case (for tissues, pens, lip products)
- -Six ring key holder
- -Small Kiragami pouch
- -Medium Kiragami pouch
- -Touchland hand sanitizer
- -PM agenda
I would classify the Croisette as a smaedium sized bag.
It is not at all in the same category as the nano speedy or pochette accessories from Louis Vuitton which are clearly small bags.
But its not quite on par size capacity wise with the Neonoe the Montaigne MM or even the Pochette Metis which can fit quick a bit more items inside.
This smaeduim category of bags, is a sizes range that I see Louis Vuitton leaning into a lot lately and I think that it’s prefect for day to day use for most people interested in luxury bags.
Things the I’ve noticed
While I feel like it’s too soon to do a full review of this bag, there have been a few things that I have noticed.
For starters, this bag is very hard to keep clean.
I have other white bags and even other damier Azur pieces and they don’t seem to attract dirt and grime the way this bag does.
A part of me thinks it’s because of the cross body design and how it sets at the hip. While the bag feels comfortable to wear, it may be more prone to rubbing up against things as well, causing it to get dirtier faster.
As was the case with my Pochette Metis, the S lock is also prone to getting scratched pretty easily too.
While my lock isn’t scratched yet, it does accumulate a lot of finger prints as it’s a high traffic area of the bag and it does show.
As mentioned before the interior of this bag is all rose ballerina. And while this is a gorgeous shade of pink, again, it is prone to showing dirt.
I highly recommend getting a bag organizer for the Croisette to help at least protect the bottom of your bag.
You can pick up one from Zoomoni here.

While a bag organizer will help protect the bottom of your bag, you will still have to be careful with the flap of your bag. This is a high traffic area for you bag as this is where your hand will land to open your bag. And if you have any make up, oil or dirt on your fingers, it will transfer over to the interior side of your flap.
Because of how light everything is, I’m constantly finding myself wiping down both the exterior and interior more frequently and with a more inspectful eye than I do my other purses.
This bag also has a fair about of vachetta leather. If you don’t like the leather changing colors, then be prepared to either send this bag in to repair or sell and buy a new–or maybe just skip this bag all together.
I personally love the look of aged vachetta and I think the back will look amazing with a beautiful honey patina.
I have placed a bandeau around my top handle in hopes that it will help the handle patina more evenly over time. However, I want to be clear that a bandeau will not stop the patina-ing process, as this is a natural processes of oxidation.
Over all I really do enjoy this bag and I don’t want to scare anyone away from it. However, I like to be as thoughtful and thorough with these types of blogs so that people know what they are getting themselves into.

Final thoughts
While this bag is not without any faults, I quickly fell in love with using this bag and I find it hard to rotate out of it.
Despite how easily this bag gets dirty, the ease of use, especially with me having 3 kids makes me want to grab for it.
It’s over all a none fussy bag that prefect for shopping, brunch with friends and going to the park with kids.
And its more structured design makes it look super feminine to boot, making it a joy to style.
I foresee myself grabbing for this bag a lot in the summer and spring time, but I can also see myself enjoying it in the winter too.

Great review and thank you! I stumbled across your blog for the bag reviews and the level of detail is SO helpful. Love the damier azur – I have the crosiette in damier ebene and now I’m tempted to get the azur for summertime 😉 definitely agree with your assessment that the croisette is “smaedium” size! Great idea for the bandeau on the handle too. Thanks for the content!
