I love moisturizes.
Even before chemotherapy, my skin would get really dry, especially in the winter time. So I like to invest money into nice hand creams.
I decided to pick up the Chanel Chance Perfumed Hand Creams back when I got the Winter Healthy Glow Les Beige Collection, mainly because I was interested in exploring the Chanel Chance fragrance line.
But also because I generally like the Chanel ‘Le Main’ hand cream but have issues with how bulbuls the packaging is. Seeing that this new release from Chanel has a slimmer packaging, I felt that it might be a better option for me.
So for today’s blog. I want to do a quick review of the Chanel Chance Perfumed Hand Creams and hopefully help you decide if this lotion is a good option for you or not.

Save Some Coin With Rakuten
At the time of this posting, you can now find the Chanel Chance perfumed hand creams at Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom’s, and Macy’s– all of whom are partnered with Rakuten!
I always like to mention Rakuten when I can because its such an easy way to get automatic cash back–especially for purchases that you were planning on making either way.
When I shop at luxury department stores online with Rakuten, it’s not uncommon for me to get 10%-15, cash back from my purchase. That’s a pretty big cash back discount off with some of these more expensive items.
Then, every 4 months, Rakuten sends me a check in the method of my choosing with all the money that I have saved.
I have gotten over $1,100 in cash back at this point thanks to Rakuten.
I personally feel that if you’re going to be splurging just a bit, then you might as well get the best deal out of it that you can and Rakuten helps me do just that.
Even better, new members to Rakuten can earn an additional $30 cash back on top of what they earned from their qualifying purchase just for signing up through this link here.
Quick Overview
The Chanel Chance hand creams (current released as a limited run) come in a set of 3 tubes, each based off of one of the Chance perfumes.
Chance is a floral-spicy scent with notes of pink pepper, jasmine and amber patchouli with white musk and vanilla.
Chance Eau Tendre (my personal favorite) takes on a more citrus scent with notes grapefruit, jasmine and white musk.
Finally, Chance Eau Fraiche has a zesty freshness to it of citrus with notes of jasmine and teakwood.
The formulation of this product is meant to feel light and hydrating, while also giving you a whiff of that signature Chance scent.
Looking at the ingredient list of this product, the Chanel Chance hand creams have a hight amount of glycerin in it, which is a common humectant used in skincare to help draw in moisture.
It also contains ingredients such as xanthan gum which is generally used as a thickening agent in beauty products and other skin care ingredients such as tocopherol acetate–a form of vitamin E for skin care and supplements.
What I’ve Been Enjoying
Shop Chanel Chance Perfumed Hand Cream at Ulta
Far and away, I’ve been enjoying the scent of this product.
This was my first real introduction to any of the Chanel Chance fragrances and all of the hand creams smell amazing.
The scent is strong and carries well, but it isn’t so strong that you drown in it either.
But it will be a scent that is noticed. When my oncology nurse came into my appointment room, she was immediately able to smell my hand cream and said it smelled like a pleasant puff of Chance was just sprayed into the air.
This scent also has great longevity. It lingers beautifully on my skin for hours after initially application. If you really like the Chanel Chance fragrances but don’t like how quickly the scent can dissipate, then pairing it with one of these hand creams might be a good option for you.
I have also really been enjoying the size of this hand cream. It’s the prefect size to fit inside of smaller handbag or even a mini pochette.
The hand cream itself is fairly moisturizing as well. It isn’t the most moistening product out there that’s going to solve all your dry skin issues, but it will work well for when you’re out and about and need something quick to rehydrate your skin.
My skin drinks this hand cream up in a good way and it leaves my hands feeling soft and moisturized, without my hands staying oilily for too long.
What I Don’t Like
This doesn’t bother me per say but I feel like I have to mention somewhere that this product isn’t a cream.
I had thought that it might have a consistency like the La Main Creme, especially with xanthin gum so high up in the ingredients list. But the consistency is very runny like water.
For me, this consistency itself isn’t really an issue, just something that I wasn’t expecting with a name like ‘hand cream’.
But the consistency of this product is an issue when it comes to the component its housed in.
I love these little tubes for the most part, but the opening is very wide. This wouldn’t be a problem if the product was thicker. But it’s not, so this hand cream can easily spill out and you end up using way more product than you wanted.
Also, a few times now, I’ve gone to open my hand cream and all the cream has pushed to the top of the tube and had a mini eruption on me.
I carry my hand creams and lotions in little SLG’s that can get wiped down and almost always use a bag insert, so this isn’t too much of an issue for me.
But I do feel like if you’ve carrying these around in a nice hand bag, you run the risk of spillage, so be careful.

Price
I wanted to talk about the price of this Chanel Chance hand cream, because this is something that I always factor in when deciding on making a purchase or not.
The Chance hand creams are currently retailing for $80.00USD for the set of 3 at 0.7fl/oz each for a total of 0.21fl/oz.
This comes down to about $27.00USD per hand cream. That is crazy expensive IMO.
Now, I’m a Chanel enthusiast and I’ve been waiting somethings more practical from the brand to fit in my bag for some time now. So getting my husband to get this for me as a gift when I picked up the rest of the Les Beiges collection made sense for me.
But I have to say this–there are A LOT of hand cream options out there that are prefect for hand bags at a fraction of the price.
I personally LOVE the hand creams that you can pick up at Target. The Beloved hand creams are about $5.00USD each, filled with emollients and really keep your hands hydrated.
Plus, Target is always running productions where you can get discounts or gift cards when your purchases these hand creams so I think this is a great option. You can check them out here.
L’Occitane also makes wonderful hand creams that I think are perfectly sized for a hand bag. While more expensive than the Beloved ones from Target, at most you’re paying $13 for a luxurious tube of hydrating lotion.
If you want to stay in the luxury space, the Chanel La Main Creme offers 1.7 fl/oz of product for $55.005USD– $30.00USD less!
This packaging isn’t as small or convenient in my opinion as the Chance Perfumed hand creams are, but they have a thicker consistency and feel great on the skin.

Final Thoughts
Over all this is a nice product.
And I think it was very smart for Chanel to launch this in the heart of winter when most of us suffer from dry skin here in the north.
It’s something that I think would make a great gift for someone, especially with Valentine’s Day coming up.
Or, if you’re a Chanel enthusiast like myself or just a major fan of the Chance fragrance line, then this product might also make sense to you as it is beautiful, feels great and smells amazing.
But if you’re just in the market for a hand cream that’s going to moisturize your hands and you don’t have to have the designer label, then you might want to just skip this one.
Although it is a quality hand cream with premium ingredients, you are literally just paying for the name with this product.
It’s cute to have in my purses for special outings, but I just love the Beloved hand creams from Target as well and I can get 16 of them for the same price as 3 of these Chance ones.
Mathematically, I just can’t really justify getting this product outside of it being a gift as it brings nothing new to the table other than a convenient packaging and does have a few (although minor) issues with it.
Lunar New Year’s and Valentine’s Day are just around the corner however, so this could be a great thing to put on your wishlist or gift to someone special. Most people would probably be happy enough to get a thoughtful and expensive gift like this.
But just to buy this for your day to day hand lotion? I honestly do think that there are better options out there.
I would love to know what you all think about the new Chanel Chance hand cream. Did you purchase or are you thinking about making a purchase? Let me know down below and come join us over on Instagram and Youtube to continue this conversation.
Love, Monnii
