When Chanel sends me an invite, I respond expeditiously.

So of course I headed to my local counter right away to try the new Chanel Chance Spendide, (available to the public now), a few weeks early.

The Chance family of fragrances, characterizes by poppy and fresh scent profiles, was actually a fragrance line that I was recently introduced to thanks to one of my sorority sisters.

While I might be new to the line, Chance and its family of perfumes and lotions have been a fan favorite for years and when I posted about this release on my IG, so many of you asked for all the details!

So for today’s blog, I will be sharing with you everything I know about the new Chanel Chance, my thoughts on it and most importantly, how to get your hands on it to try out!

A History of Chance

Chanel is a brand that is steeped in history and their fragrances are no different.

Breaking boundaries by creating the first designer composite fragrance in 1921, Chanel solidified itself as one of the top luxury designer perfumery makers.

Chanel strongly believed in keeping the complexed and sensual nature of women in the heart of everything the brand created and Jacques Polege– the brands perfumer since the late 70’s has done just that.

In 2002, Polege introduced the world to the Chance fragrance.

Staying true to the nature of Gabriella herself, the original Chance perfume was mean to evoke feelings of good fortune and spontenidity.

The original Chance boost notes of citron and pepper, with floral notes such as jasmine and hyacinth with a bit of amber to round things out.

Chance was a success for the brand with its clean, youthful and energizing profile, becoming an instant classic for the brand.

Jacques went on to create one more fragrance for the Chance line (Chance Fraiche), before clearing the way for his son to take over in 2005.

Oliver Polege would then go on to make the iconic Chanel Chance Tenure, a fragrance that captures romance with its playful notes of rose, jasmine, musk and grapefruit.

Tenure was actually my introduction to the Chanel Chance late in late 2022, thanks to one of my sisters who introduced me to the fragrance. Since then, it has been one of the top perfumes that I enjoy wearing

Chanel Spendide

Spearheaded by Oliver Polege, Chanel Chance Spendide gives us reimagined romance with subtle raspberry notes that blend with the traditional musk and citron we have come to know and expect with a Chance fragrance.

And or course, strong floral notes are present too. The geranium rounds this perfume out well, giving it such a feminine essences.

And towards the end, you do get a bit of a powdery scent to this fragrance as well— which feels classic for Chanel.

Im personally not a fan of powdery scents as they feel matronly to me. However, with this fragrance, the powdery notes feel almost like a second thought and aren’t really noticeably.

Should You Buy?

I get excited any time I see a new fragrance release and it’s always tempting to buy!

But not all fragrances are meant for everyone, so here are some things that I think you should know and consider before adding Chanel Chance Splendide to your cart.

First, this is a light, springy feminine scent. If you prefer more dark and moody scents, then this one isn’t going to be for you.

This Chance fragrance is also more fruit forward than the others in my opinion, though I wouldn’t call it a fruity perfume. Still, if you’re more into florals, then you may want to check out the other Chance fragrances.

Lastly, I would say that the throw of this fragrance is very nice, but it doesn’t seem to linger on the skin for long —at least on my skin.

I would find myself applying this fragrance more frequently than the other Chance fragrances. So if you’re looking for something with staying power, then this may not be for you.

All of that out of the way, this is a fragrance profile that I absolutely love, and one that people kept asking me about as I was testing it out.

I feel that this perfume is best suited for gift giving or for the occasional use for date nights or going out with your friends if you’re into sweet, energetic romantics scents.

Just know that this scent isn’t probably going to last you all day or night.

With any fragrance, I highly suggest that you stop by your local counter first and pick up a sample to wear for a few days, to see how it works with your body chemistry.

Final Thoughts

Chanel has such a storied history with fragrances and I’m so honored that I got to be one of the first to try the new Chanel Chance Spendide.

For me, the notes of raspberry mixed with the rose geranium is what makes this fragrance so dreamy.

This is a scent that truly draws you in and it’s just enjoyable to smell!

Unfortunately, it has a weak staying power (at least on me) which means you’re more likely to run through a bottle of this than any of the other Chance fragrances I have tried. This makes this more of a special occasion fragrance rather than a daily fragrance like I view Chance Tenture to be.

All that said, I still think this is an excellent scent and one you should absolutely get a sample of at the very least if you like fruity floral fragrances.

This fragrance is now available at all Chanel Beauty boutiques and counters ( including at Macys and Ulta ) as well as online for those in the United States.

If you try this fragrance out, be sure to let me know what you think!
