I’m a fragrance girly.
I love to experiment with different smells and see which combinations work best for me.
But there are some fragrances that are just flat out amazing all on their own. These are the ones that when I wear them, someone will 100% ask me what I’m wearing and the ones that excite my husband the most!
These scents are going to make you feel and smell like the grown woman you are (or at least trying to be), and they all have AMAZING staying power!

This list isn’t in any particular order, however they are all available at Sephora and generally smell great on everyone. That said, perfumes are very personal, in that we all have a different body chemistry. So I highly encourage you to go into your local store and pick up a sample first to see if these work for you.

Gabrielle Essence
The first perfume on my list is Gabrielle from Chanel. While N.5 and Mademoiselle may be the better known scents from the brand, Gabrielle Essence is for the girls who are trying to turn heads.
With notes of citrus, peach, jasmine, vanilla pepper and sandalwood, this fragrance smells very feminine and clean with just a slight edge to it.
This is defiantly a fragrance that I would encourage you to test before you buy, because many people find it feels ‘old’ and basic when they smell it straight on. I originally felt the same way. But once on the skin (for me at least), the warm and creamy vanilla with some of the more powdery notes really come out. It gives ‘Rich Cool Aunty’ vibes on me and is a great fragrance to wear to day time and early evening events.
It important to note here that there are several Gabrielle fragrances from Chanel. The Essence however is by far the most complex and the best in my opinion.

Made In Roma Eau de Parfum
Made In Roma Eau de Parfum is an interesting fragrance to me because I actually don’t like how it smells! But I include it on this list because it’s the perfume that receives the most attention when I wear it.
When I first spritzed this on my wrist, I swore it was a mistake. But my husband loved the smell of it. And 3 more people came up to me later on that night asking what I was wearing and telling me it smelt amazing.
In fact, every time I wear this in public, I have at least 1 person come up to me asking what it is and where can they buy it. So if you want to attract attention, this is the one to get!
The Made In Roma Eau de Parfum is more on the woody side of things with strong notes of bergamot, pepper and currant, with some undertones of creamy vanilla and jasmine. This perfume has great staying power as well and I only like using a small amount for nights out.
Gucci Bloom
Gucci Bloom was an instant love for me!
The simplicity of this one is very reminiscent of Jo Malone fragrances in my opinion. With simple floral notes, some might find this one boring if just smelling it on the nose. But I find this scent to be very refreshing and clean for a flower forward scent with a little powdery and vanilla smell to it.
This one gets complemented all the time when I wear it and I find it perfect for brunch or afternoon meetings. I have heard some people say that this scent fades quickly on them. But that hasn’t been the case for me. As mentioned above though, perfumes are very personal and react to peoples body chemistries very differently.
Because of the simplicity of this fragrance, I find it prefect for layering. This goes great with Juliette’s This is Not A Perfume and Jo Malone’s Blush Peony. But of course, this is beautiful on it’s own too.
Black Orchid
This deep and sultry scent from Tom Ford is a fan favorite for a reason!
Boosting rich black current, gardenia and bergamot notes, with a bit of patchouli, amber and musk following through, this is a very sexy scent. If you want to be noticed, this scent is it!
I also really enjoy the staying power Tom Ford fragrances have; particularly Black Orchid. A little bit will take you a long ways, so I suggest just doing a quick small spritzes on your pules points.
Because of the complexity of this perfume, this one is best worn on its own–else wise it may become too over bearing.
I feel like this scent is best for nights–both out and in. Sometimes I like to spray just a little bit of this scent behind my ears at bed time after I have taken a nice luxuriously bath and done my skin care routine. But I’ve also recently worn this to a holiday party and had several people come up to me, telling me how wonderful I smell.
LoveFest Burring Cherry
This warm and cozy scent from Kayali is another perfect one for these colder months that is sure to turn heads. I was introduced to this one by my sister and I fell in love immediately with it.
What’s most alluring about this fragrance to me is how the sweet and fruity cherry notes play so well with the smokey wood notes and light patchouli undertone. They combine to make this addicting scent that will have people coming up to your every time you wear this
The one thing that I’m not a huge fan of when it comes to this fragrance is that the scent evaporates very quickly compared to some of the other fragrances on this list. On it’s own, you shouldn’t expect it tot last all night. To combat this, I like to put a little bit of vaseline on my pulse points before I spray it, so it has something to stick to. I also find that it sticks well to clothing and hair, so spritzing a little bit in those areas will also help keep the scent around.
This perfume is amazing to layer with. I find that it goes well with Ariana’s Cloud or Baccarat 450 fragrances.
Bonus–Miss Dior Hair Mist
I had to add this, because not everyone thinks of hair mist, but I feel like that can really add a lot.
I love this one from Dior because it feels like the prefect clean girl scent. It’s light and flower forward. It’s fragrant, but not over powering. It’s just strong enough to linger a bit when you reach in to give someone a hug and make them wonder, ‘what is that lovely smell?’
On a lot of days, I just wear this hair mist and I’m always getting complimented on it. By far, this is my favorite fragrance in the Miss Dior line.
Final Thoughts
If you’re into fragrances, or know someone who is, now is going to be one of the best times to stock up on full sized bottles at Sephora during their Fragrance event.
I feel like fragrances have almost become like an accessory for me and I love playing around in them, seeing what they smell like on me.
I have a whole collection of fragrances that I’ve been trying out and I you’d liked to see more, I’ll be happy to share a bit later on.
But for now, these are the top 5 designer fragrances that I think people will get the most enjoyment out of that can be picked up during the Sephora Sale.
